New occupier adds to automotive legacy of Huntingdon premises

Over 23,500 sq ft of industrial space on Huntingdon’s principal trading estate has been let by Eddisons to Advanced Composite & Engineering Technology Ltd (ACE Technology), for the engineering & manufacturing firm’s second operational base in the district.

The three units - B1, B2 & B3 - at 18 Glebe Road on St Peter’s Road Trading Estate will see the firm relocate its operation from a temporary base in Alconbury Weald in the coming months, following fit out and the new central Huntingdon presence to its other location on Glatton Road Business Park in Sawtry.

Ace Technology is a family-run, local firm established in the area since 2004.

Working with national clients in the automotive sector, mainly, planned business growth over the last decade accelerated post-pandemic and prompted the search for additional, substantial and permanent business premises.

As Paul Skinner, Director of Ace Technology, explains, the company’s property requirements were quite specific in wanting a yard and parking, being robust enough to accommodate clean room facilities fit out and within a 10 mile radius of the existing operations for the purposes of employee retention and future recruitment.

He says, “What we have at 18 Glebe Road ticks all our boxes.

“It’s a centrally placed Huntingdon location and on a site and a scale of accommodation that is fit for purpose for the firm which has a current, total headcount of 60 employees who are all based locally.

“Added to which, as the former Huntingdon headquarters of Lola Cars, the new location gives a legacy and association with the automotive industry that we’re happy to continue.”

Eddisons remains the sole agent under instruction at 18 Glebe Road where the agent advises that Units A3 & A4 are under offer and there is strong interest in the remaining A1 & A2 units which offer 4,814 sq ft and 4,794 sq ft, respectively.

For information about the remaining units to let at 18 Glebe Road, St Peter’s Road Trading Estate, Huntingdon, contact Stephen Power at Eddisons' Huntingdon office on 01480 571578, stephen.power@eddisons.com or through eddisons.com.
