Eddisons has been appointed on the New Year rise development in the historic county of Cumberland.
Built on 20 acres of greenfield off Seaton Road, the homes will give space to the increase in demand for homes in the Cumbrian village of Seaton.
The scheme, managed by Story Homes and approved by Cumberland Council late last week, includes 180 new homes ranging from two-bed to six-bed dwellings.
Eddisons were appointed transport planning advisors for the proposed development.
Focusing on energy efficiency and community-building, the new site will be built collaboratively with environmental specialists, landscape architects, and engineers to prioritise the requirements of the modern homeowner.
Story Homes’ Paul Fenton remarked that “the scheme will deliver highway improvements on Seaton Road as well as a travel plan, and will make an important contribution towards housing delivery”.
10% of the properties, that consist of bungalows, mews/terraces, semi-detached, and detached homes, will be classed as affordable – a real positive takeaway from this new venture – and will also join the existing village through a series of pedestrian crossing points that connect to the current footpath network.
Our Transport Planning and Highway Design team is based in Manchester but works across the country on projects ranging from planning applications, travel plans, network modelling, and more.
