Eddisons project manages Lincolnshire Co-op store build
Eddisons has project managed the construction of the new 5,000 sq ft Central England Co-op store in Donington, Lincolnshire.
Creating 26 new jobs, the scheme was completed on time and on budget with an official opening earlier this month. Eddisons acted on behalf of developer, Market Harborough-based Minster Property and the firm’s director Nick Galloway liaised with Central England Cooperative’s fit-out delivery team throughout. Peterborough-based Burmor Construction was appointed as the principal contractor for the developer works.
The community food store in the newly-named Goodacre Buildings in Donington, near Spalding, was designed in line with the Co-op’s rigorous sustainability goals, and features a customer car park with permeable paving, water refilling station, air source heating and cooling, eco-friendly fridges, and a free bicycle repair station. The property was also awarded an A-grade energy performance certificate (EPC) rating.
Nick Galloway said: “It was fantastic to be involved in this new-build construction, particularly as maximising sustainability is central to Eddisons’ values. We worked as a team throughout to ensure a smooth transition over to the Co-op and it was nice to have the opportunity to keep the original landowners engaged in progress, keeping the family’s “Goodacre” name for the unit’s address.
“This new store will be a real asset to the local Donington community, creating new jobs as well as providing the vital resource of a grocery store that will serve a wide area.”
