Boats, vintage cars and - of course - a "power harrow"

We're lucky at Eddisons to enjoy a great deal of variety in our auctions, and none more diverse than this crop of recent sales!

Although we get some amazing lots through our doors, such as the remaining assets from the trailblazing Karsten Schubert estate, our bread-and-butter is plant and machinery.

Our clients span the globe and, due to our auctions being online, our bidders do too. This means we can sell specialist brands, unheard of by most, to the people who really want them.

Beneteau First 47.7

Beneteau 1

Suffering from not having a mast and being moored in Valencia did not stop bidders from trying to buy this prestigious Beneteau First 47.7 racing yact.

The online auction eventually concluded in a buyer in Turkey securing the 14.5m boat for £12200, a great result!

Bentley Derby 4.5L 1939

Bentley Derby 4 5L 1939Catching the eyes of the BBC, this continent-hopping automobile was a very popular lot recently.

First built in 1939, this Bentley Derby had been under sheets for nearly 2 decades before coming to auction last month.

The car took part in the Paris-to-Peking Centenary Rally in 2007, racing through the Gobi Desert, calling off at Moscow, and entering into Europe before crossing the finish line at the Gendarmerie Nacionale in the City of Lights.

The motorcar went for a handsome £17,400 - one of the most stylish doer-uppers we've seen in a while!

Agricultural machinery from Burdens Group

Alpego power harrow

We were sad to see farming machinery giants Burdens Group file for administration this year, but were pleased to help them sell their remaining stock and assets.

It proved to be a great result for our client, seeing industry brands such as New Holland, Dalbo, Alpego, Amazone, as well as Jacobsen, Ransomes Ferris and Stiga, going under the hammer.

Although not as glamorous as some of our more "press-friendly" assets, our plant & machinery sales are always very popular and raise vital funds for our clients to either retool - or relieve - their businesses.

Artwork and antiquities from Karsten Schubert

Karsten Schubert

Five years from his death, the remaining artwork and antiquities of Karsten Schubert's London gallery were sold by us last month.

An advocate of the Young British Artists, Schubert's collection included pieces from Bridget Riley, Michael Landy and Gillian Wearing.

On top of these contemporary names, the auction also presented engravings from British Master William Hogarth and celebrated caricaturist James Gillray (above).
