Project
Our client required advice and delivery of a new student accommodation development, within easy distance of the University of Lincoln campus.
The site, a three-acre site own by Castle Square Developments needed to be obviously suitable for young adults living away from home, but also deliverable to meet the September 2019 deadline.
Approach
As part of the University’s expansion, a new medical school was established, creating more need for more student beds and a car park – as people would need to commute during unsociable hours.
The Lincoln team was able to arrange a leasehold structure for the University, through careful discussion and a comprehensive understanding of budgets and expectations, with funding that stretched to a larger build including on-site car parking facilities.
Results
In addition to the building being completed on time and within budget, the multi-disciplinary nature of the project ensure that all requirements were considered and met. The quantity surveying team was able to inform the project managers on how to proceed and the project managers could use the quantity surveyors as advisors on matters of feasibility.
The new building, known as Valentine Court, sleeps 469 students within a low-rise development that has the flexibility and foundations to grow along with its cohort.
