Project
Eddisons were appointed by Brambles Academy to apply for CIF Funding to replace the existing pitched concrete roof tiles. Our appointment was based on recommendations from a third party.
Approach
After successfully obtaining in excess of £550,000 to finance the pitched roof refurbishment works, Eddisons were appointed to undertake the role of Lead Designer, Principal Designer and Contract Administrator.
Working in a live academic environment to undertake the works, we managed the programme of works, phasing requirements and Health and Safety of the project from inception through to completion. Given the nature of the works, this required the expertise of our Building and Project Consultancy team to proactively provide advice, guidance and recommendations to the client in respect of how the works would be delivered successfully and safely.
Results
- The successful delivery of the project provided the academy with a safe, watertight and fit for purpose roof covering and a roof void which can now be used for storage.
- The Academy has also increased its thermal performance. As a result, retained heat has negated the need for heating to be on constantly. This has generated an annual utility cost saving which can be reinvested.
