Project
To deliver a constructed shell of brand new 5,000 sq. ft. Co-op store, as part of a new neighbourhood retail parade in Donington, near Spalding, Lincolnshire, to the retailer’s exacting sustainability criteria for the store and car park setting on behalf of our client, the developer Minster Property.
Approach
Lincolnshire Co-op store build Eddisons project managed the construction stages to timetable in liaison with the appointed principal building contractor, Burmor Construction, and Central England Co-operative’s own fit-out delivery team.
Results
The handover was on time and on budget for Summer 2022, with the store achieving a Grade A EPC rating. Completion of 12-month defect check in Summer 2023 to the satisfaction of all parties.
Eddisons has been retained as property managing agent for the store.
We’ve engaged Eddisons as building consultants on a number of our development projects and always appreciate the direction, insight and input Nick Galloway gives at the outset and during the various build & fit out phases.
Accountability and clarity are key components in project management, especially when dealing with an ultimate client who has its own exacting standards and templates for its branded outlets.
Fittingly, the new neighbourhood store was very much a collaborative building project and, in acting for us, Nick and his Eddisons team never lost sight of our client’s expectations too.
While I hadn’t worked with Eddisons on any project previously, I would welcome working with the firm’s same project management team again.
Nick Galloway was so attentive at every stage of the build, fit out and follow-up. Issues were addressed head on and no problem was flagged without a solution being offered.
Thoroughness and diligence throughout ensured a project delivered with ease.
