Freehold Deals Lead to Industrial Shortage
Barker Storey Matthews now part of Eddisons Huntingdon Office has recently agreed the sale for three industrial units in Huntingdon, St Neots and Kimbolton to local owner occupiers. All three units are in the range of between 10,000-18,000 sq ft and provide modern industrial floor space. Two of the industrial units have good sized secure yards.
A lack of new development over a number of years now has led to a shortage of this type of stock and as a result Barker Storey Matthews now part of Eddisons are seeking new instructions to offer to unsatisfied enquiries. Barker Storey Matthews Director, Richard Adam, confirms “whilst regrettably the market perception is that there are a lot of buildings on the market, when interested parties start looking in earnest at specific sectors such as medium to larger freehold industrial buildings there is relatively little available. Condition, eaves height, yard area, and particularly location are all important for companies looking for commercial properties as a second or third move”.
