Consultancy for student residential accommodation scheme

Challenge

Eddisons were appointed to provide transport planning advice for a major student residential scheme offering 400 apartments across five blocks near Great Homer Street in north Liverpool.

Solution

We reported on the traffic and transport aspects of the development proposal, including an analysis that studies the accessibility of the site by walking, cycling and public transport. The proposals include very limited car parking and it was essential that a strategy for travel by sustainable transport modes was required for the City Council to accept that the development was acceptable.

Results

The development was granted planning permission in 2016. The proposed student residential accommodation scheme at Fox Street was one of a number of similar projects that Croft have advised on in recent years within Liverpool city centre.

“Obtaining planning consent can be an uncertain process and transport is a critical requirement of any application. We have the technical knowledge and working relationships with local authorities to ensure that you obtain the most advantageous planning consent.”
