Project
Eddisons’ Lincoln office was approached to work with Lincolnshire Co-operative and the Moorland Centre, an out-of-town retail park, to acquire tenants for the new build and successfully move them into the space.
Approach
After researching and understanding the needs and expectations of the community of Swallow Beck and the surrounding areas, Eddisons identified British retailer M&S as having an interest in the location. As such, the team agreed a pre-let with them whilst having planning permissions planned and approved.
As a result of our unparalleled service, we were later appointed letting agents, project managers and quantity surveyors on the scheme.
Results
The success of the M&S store meant that the Moorland Centre was able to enter the second phase of its development.
As with the initial project, we were able to recognise global supermarket Aldi as an appropriate tenant for another unit on the Moorland Centre site. The Commercial Property Lettings team within the Lincoln office was able to demonstrate how beneficial occupying the space would be.
The next stage in our project is to demolish the former Moorland Centre and build the new Aldi unit – another 10,000 square foot unit.
