Project
Lincolnshire Co-operative Society Ltd approached Eddisons to redesign and deliver a new people-focused retail space with a focus on entertainment and culture.
After a couple of failed attempts, Eddisons’ Lincoln team were asked to provide a new direction for the Co-operative that allowed for a mixed of upmarket brands and independent traders alike to thrive in the same space.
Alongside shops, restaurants and venues, transport links also needed to be addressed ensuring safety and convenience were part of the redevelopment.
Approach
The Lincoln team employed a multi-disciplinary approach, appointing their surveying teams, project managers and quantity surveyors, among other, to propose a reinforced plan, focused on a sympathetic application of Lincoln’s historic architecture and underpinned by modern placemaking.
Working to a fixed timescale allowed for the main tenants to begin trading before the COVID-19 pandemic, ensuring top brands were in place for shoppers to test out prior to and return after lockdowns.
Results
By understanding the city’s cultural touchpoints and collaborating with their clients, Eddisons were able to acquire brands to join the Cornhill Quarter from conception through to current day.
