Sale of Industrial Machinery for US Manufacturer

BACKGROUND

Our client, a leading US owned farm machinery manufacturer decided to close their plant in the UK and move production to Eastern Europe.

SOLUTION

We were instructed to provide a valuation of the surplus equipment and advise onĀ sales strategy, in order to meet a tight deadline for clearing the factory following cessation of manufacturing operations.

After discussion with local management it was decided to offer all surplus assets for sale by Online Auction, allowing 4 weeks for cataloguing and marketing of the equipment and a further 10 days for site clearance following closure of the auction.

RESULTS

The Online Auction attracted extensive local, national and international interest, and all 200 lots sold for prices significantly in excess of our pre-sale estimates. Site clearance was completed within 8 days and we were able to return the premises to the Landlord tidied, swept out and on time.
